Fit Minds can be participated in on their own, or added to compliment your already existing fitness routine.  Since one of our goals is to train the deep muscles, we will only enhance your lifestyle.  Our programs are appropriate for anyone of any fitness level.  We can and will help you!

Kyla Faganely is a hardworking and motivated individual who is dedicated to health and fitness promotion.  She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology, a Bachelor of Education Degree, and a multitude of fitness certification certificates and qualifications.  Kyla has worked and trained in the fitness industry for approximately twenty years and in a variety of countries and communities worldwide, including: Australia, Europe, the United States, Canada, and Costa Rica.  Throughout her years of training and education, Kyla has worked with and trained under some of the fitness industry’s top professionals.

It is because of her training and education where Kyla became passionate about deep muscle activation, training the body from the inside out, athletic training, functional fitness, correctional fitness, pre and post natal training, and youth training.  She strongly believes in the mind body connection and truly enjoys helping others achieve their fitness goals.  Through her most recent training, Kyla has become appreciative and passionate in corrective and functional fitness to help align people’s body and correct faulty motor patterns, all of which will provide for a more balanced body.  Not only does Kyla continue to educate herself in fitness, always looking for new knowledge to help her clients, she is the Northern Ontario Pro Trainer where she certifies personal trainers.  It is because of her expertise that Kyla gets opportunities to present internationally on numerous certifications and health providers alike.  She truly is an inspiration, not just on a local level but on a global level!

Tiffany Hayward – MSc.

Tiffany HaywardTiffany Hayward is a hardworking, conscientious individual who is passionate about helping others to achieve optimal health and wellness.  She holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport Psychology, in addition to many certifications and qualifications in the area of fitness. As a former athlete and continuing academic, Tiffany has been able to draw on her practical experiences and scholastic knowledge to continue meeting her own athletic and personal goals as well as helping others to achieve theirs. She strongly believes in the importance of mental, physical, and nutritional well-being at all ages and fitness levels in order to live a long, happy, and healthy life.  It is because of her beliefs and knowledge, that Tiffany has able to design and implement a variety of mental training workshops for athletes of all ages and skill levels and provide health promotion and personal empowerment workshops for the community. JenJen Amadio has always strived to live a positive healthy lifestyle.  She graduated from university with a Bachelor of Sport and Physical Education (Honours) Specialization in Health Promotion and a Bachelor of Education degree, Jen has continued to educate herself in the realm of fitness.  Achieving several certificates and qualifications allow Jen to help people achieve their health and fitness goals.  Jen has travelled through work and because of that, she has gained knowledge and expertise from many different cultures and traditions from around the world.  Jen believes “that working to love oneself empowers us to develop a healthy positive self-image.  By working to find the strength within we will develop the strength to lead a prosperous and enriched life full of success and personal achievement.”

Jill Bowes has always had a passion for fitness and health, and lives to inspire others.  Her love of group fitness began at the age of 10 when she taught classmates during school breaks and danced competitively.  She currently manages the Fit Bodies. Fit Minds. studio and also has past experience running a fitness centre and managing several group fitness programs.  She trains clients of all fitness levels and teaches a wide-variety of fitness classes. Her positive attitude and safe but fun approach to exercise, helps people relate to Jill and effectively reach their goals and feel inspired.  Jill has developed specific fitness programs for helping special populations such as cancer survivors and seniors.  One of her true loves is watching someone get stronger both in mind and body and become more confident.

Jaime Brideau – CNP (Certified Nutritional Practitioner)1F5A3170-Edit

Jaime Brideau graduated from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition in 2012 with first class honours. As a Certified Nutritional Practitioner, Jaime and classmate Candace Bell have founded The Feel Good Foodies, as a way to teach the world how good food can make you dance on the outside and the inside.

Growing up in Sault Ste. Marie, Jaime ate the typical diet of the her generation – Kraft Dinner, peanut butter and jam sandwiches, pasta and Froot Loops with 2% milk. After moving away from home to attend school for art, she fell severely ill and was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and Ankylosing Spondylitis. Battling with medications for months following, she decided that pharmaceuticals were not the answer she was looking for, and sought out a Naturopath. This experience changed her life.

Now, controlling both of her conditions through diet and lifestyle, Jaime seeks to empower others to take their health into their own hands and see the power that whole foods, a healthy spirit, and a healthy mindset can have

 

 


Sarah Celli – BSc., Strength & Conditioning Coach

She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology and an associate’s degree in Health and Fitness. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and holds many other certifications in the fitness field. Sarah loves being a trainer and motivating people to change their lives for the better. She is honored to be a part of each of her clients’ journeys to wellness. Sarah also has a strong passion for teaching fitness classes. You can always count on her to push you to your max because she knows you can do it!

Caray Ford – BSc. Kinesiology, PTS, CFC, BoneFit Trained

DSCN9444Caray Ford has always had a passion for fitness and health, and lives to help others with their exercise goals.  She has recently graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor’s of Science Kinesiology and a minor in Human Nutrition. Her passion for teaching fitness classes started when she completed a co-op placement here at the studio in 2014. She trains clients of all fitness levels and teaches fitness classes at the studio and on St. Joseph Island. She is also involved in youth athletic training in a group or one-on-one settings and these young athletes have seen an improvement in their sport performance on the field/court/ice. Her drive for teaching safe, spine-sparing movements during exercise has pushed Caray to become more educated in special population fitness.

Maria Kahtava – Personal Coach and Fitness Instructor

For as long as she can remember, Maria Kahtava has had a zeal for fitness and healthy 1F5A3162-Editliving and has incorporated it as a lifestyle. In her youth, Maria developed, proposed and received funding to run summer fitness programs for children and youth in a rural community. Seeing the increase in physical ability, witnessing a positive change in attitude as well as a thirst for knowledge in these kids ignited her fitness fury further.
Maria’s credentials include canfitpro certified Personal Trainer, CPR/AED and First Aid certification. She has worked in the fitness field for 16 years and continues to enjoy taking courses to increase her learning and knowledge. Maria works at Sault College as a Learning Specialist with students in the Fitness and Health Promotion program where she enthusiastically promotes her passion.
Maria believes there is always a starting point, a beginning, a first step to becoming a healthier you. As a mother of 9 children she knows the struggle of weight and body issues, time management, stress and fatigue. However, she also knows they can be overcome. Maria delights in seeing the amazing effects of fitness and healthy living. She would love to assist you on your journey to succeed in reaching your fitness goals and becoming a more confident you!

Tessa Kasch is an avid runner, cyclist, soccer player and has a love for learning.  She has focused her learning on health and fitness and loves reading up on the latest fitness material.  Tessa has her diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Sault College, is a certified 200 RYT instructor and has her personal training and group exercise instructor certification under Ontario Fitness Council. She has also completed her Level 2 FST Practitioner Certification through the Stretch to Win Institute. Tessa is constantly learning and growing and would love to share her knowledge with you.  She will stop at nothing to help you achieve your fitness and health goals.

 


 

Lalitha RaviLalitha

 

 

Since she was a child, she has always been doing yoga. She has learnt the nuances of mediation from
her Father who was a profound thinker and a meditator. She has also learnt the Mantra meditation from the Chinmaya Mission, Kolkata, India

Under the guidance of Dr Kshitija (Ayurveda and Yoga expert ), Lalitha has learnt her breathing and mediation techniques. The values of reverence and gratitude towards the  Guru that she has inherited from the environment that she grew up in has permeated into her life. She believes that spreading the unique message of love and peace is the mission of her life.

Lalitha teaches breathing exercises[pranayama], mudra healing and meditation so that people can feel peace within themselves and spread peace around them.


Cara Russon – RN, MN, RYT 200

CaraCara has been a registered nurse since 2007, working in emergency medicine at Mount Sinai for 8 years and now works in aesthetic and clinical dermatology at Azure MediSpa.
Cara has been practicing yoga since 1998, starting in Sault Ste Marie at ‘the yoga door’. While spending a decade away from home she has had the opportunity to learn from, and with, a lot of amazing teachers. Cara has been to two Ashram’s; one in the Bahamas and one in Nicaragua.
Cara has taken her love and understanding of Western science and medicine and applied it to her yoga practice. She continues to ask the question; “why does yoga make me feel so good?”, and is relentless in her pursuit of answers. The practice Cara teaches is therapeutic – using yoga as a health tool to connect with the mind, the breath and the body to improve one’s health state.
Cara’s passion is currently weaving tidbits of her research reading into classes.  Each class she teaches she hopes to leave her clients more mindful.

Andrea has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Math with a Physical and Health Education minor as well as a Bachelor of Education degree. She is certified in Body Harmonics Mat Work Foundations (Part I, II, III), and a canfitpro Personal Training Specialist. Andrea has been involved in sports and fitness throughout her life and loves to share her passion with others. She enjoys working with people and helping them achieve educational, health, and fitness goals. Through her bubbly personality and her passion, Andrea would love to help you achieve your personal fitness goals.

 

 

 


 Sharon Wood-Anderson – Personal Coach and Fitness Instructor

SharonSharon is a canfitpro certified personal trainer and fitness instructor. She is an active member of the Soo Masters polar bear swim team as well as an avid road cyclist and long distance runner. Sharon is a level one swim coach with the Sault Surge aquatic team. Her passion for fitness and healthy living fuels her love for training. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with clients. She loves to see them achieve their fitness and lifestyle goals.
