Fit Minds can be participated in on their own, or added to compliment your already existing fitness routine.  Since one of our goals is to train the deep muscles, we will only enhance your lifestyle.  Our programs are appropriate for anyone of any fitness level.  We can and will help you!

Kyla Faganely is a hardworking and motivated individual who is dedicated to health and fitness promotion.  She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology, a Bachelor of Education Degree, and a multitude of fitness certification, certificates and qualifications.  Kyla has worked and trained in the fitness industry for over twenty years and in a variety of countries and communities worldwide, including: Australia, Europe, the United States, Canada, and Costa Rica.  Throughout her years of training and education, Kyla has worked with and trained under some of the fitness industry’s top professionals.  In addition to working in the fitness industry, Kyla is also the Algoma District School Board’s Wellness Coordinator and a corporate wellness presenter nation wide.

It is because of her training and education where Kyla became passionate about deep muscle activation, training the body from the inside out, athletic training, functional fitness, correctional fitness, pre and post natal training, and youth training.  She strongly believes in the mind body connection and truly enjoys helping others achieve their fitness goals.  Through her most recent training, Kyla has become appreciative and passionate in corrective and functional fitness to help align people’s body and correct faulty motor patterns, all of which will provide for a more balanced body.  Not only does Kyla continue to educate herself in fitness, always looking for new knowledge to help her clients, she is the Northern Ontario Pro Trainer where she certifies anyone looking to become a personal trainer.  She also works with, and for, many health professionals as a continuing education.  Not only does Kyla educate and train people, she also works with professional hockey players and teams.

Tiffany Hayward – MSc.

Tiffany HaywardTiffany Hayward is a hardworking, conscientious individual who is passionate about helping others to achieve optimal health and wellness.  She holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport Psychology, in addition to many certifications and qualifications in the area of fitness. As a former athlete and continuing academic, Tiffany has been able to draw on her practical experiences and scholastic knowledge to continue meeting her own athletic and personal goals as well as helping others to achieve theirs. She strongly believes in the importance of mental, physical, and nutritional well-being at all ages and fitness levels in order to live a long, happy, and healthy life.  It is because of her beliefs and knowledge, that Tiffany has able to design and implement a variety of mental training workshops for athletes of all ages and skill levels and provide health promotion and personal empowerment workshops for the community. Health and wellness has always been a significant part of my life. I have been a competitive distance runner for many years while also being involved in a variety of other sports and activities such as hockey, cross-country skiing, biking, and swimming. I love bringing my activities outdoors and never turn down an opportunity to train outside while also enjoying activities like hiking, fishing, and camping.

My background in kinesiology and clinical rehabilitation has inspired me to help others reach their personal goals. Focusing on making you feel better and stronger, I want you to gain inspiration and energy from training with me. I focus on corrective and functional exercises that help develop proper biomechanics and movement patterns. I also incorporate hands on soft tissue release techniques which is a combination of myofascial release, therapeutic massage, and active assisted stretching. These training ideals creates a more balanced approach between training intensity and recovery.


Jen Amadio – BSc., B.Ed., Personal Coach

JenJen Amadio has always strived to live a positive healthy lifestyle.  She graduated from university with a Bachelor of Sport and Physical Education (Honours) Specialization in Health Promotion and a Bachelor of Education degree, Jen has continued to educate herself in the realm of fitness.  Achieving several certificates and qualifications allow Jen to help people achieve their health and fitness goals.  Jen has travelled through work and because of that, she has gained knowledge and expertise from many different cultures and traditions from around the world.  Jen believes “that working to love oneself empowers us to develop a healthy positive self-image.  By working to find the strength within we will develop the strength to lead a prosperous and enriched life full of success and personal achievement.”

Leon Anderson-Knight –  CanFitPro Certified Personal Trainer, Level One Fascial Stretch Therapist

Leon’s career in fitness started later in life; although always active, he is a natural athlete. He loves sports, especially basketball, surfing and golfing.

He is especially passionate about increasing proper mobility and injury prevention. As a Fascial Stretch Therapist, Leon focuses on proper form and deep muscle activation.

He is a true believer in taking your time to do things properly. His patience and calm demeanour will help motivate you to keep trying to achieve progress.

He is currently teaching Iron Strength where he uses foundation training concepts that focus on lengthening and strengthening the muscles with proper alignment. This class will challenge your body  to go beyond what you thought possible. Classes can be adjusted to all fitness levels so you can feel the burn without feeling burnt out.

Leon provides FST to help compliment your wellness journey.

FST is a table-based form of assisted stretching with a certified therapist.

Fascia is a biological fabric that holds us together – FST is used to improve improve performance, prevent injury, correct posture and  relieve pain.

Jill Bowes has always had a passion for fitness and health, and lives to inspire others.  Her love of group fitness began at the age of 10 when she taught classmates during school breaks and danced competitively.  She currently manages the Fit Bodies. Fit Minds. studio and also has past experience running a fitness centre and managing several group fitness programs.  She trains clients of all fitness levels and teaches a wide-variety of fitness classes. Her positive attitude and safe but fun approach to exercise, helps people relate to Jill and effectively reach their goals and feel inspired.  Jill has developed specific fitness programs for helping special populations such as cancer survivors and seniors.  One of her true loves is watching someone get stronger both in mind and body and become more confident.

Josephine Borg – CanFit Pro PTS

Josephine Borg is a CanFit certified, 4th year Kinesiology student joining FBFM for the summer! In the past, she has run exercise programs for special populations that include cancer survivors and seniors with physical and cognitive disabilities.

She is passionate about incorporating spine-sparing, foundational movements into her workouts. In her spare time, Josephine enjoys doing yoga and long-distance running.

Jaime Brideau – CNP (Certified Nutritional Practitioner)1F5A3170-Edit

Jaime Brideau graduated from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition in 2012 with first class honours. As a Certified Nutritional Practitioner, Jaime began work in Toronto, before moving back to Sault Ste. Marie with her son, where she continues to focus on empowering other’s to take control of their health.

Growing up in Sault Ste. Marie, Jaime ate the typical diet of the her generation – Kraft Dinner, peanut butter and jam sandwiches, pasta and Froot Loops with 2% milk. After moving away from home to attend school for art, she fell severely ill and was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and Ankylosing Spondylitis. Battling with medications for months following, she decided that pharmaceuticals were not the answer she was looking for, and sought out a Naturopath. This experience changed her life.

Now, controlling both of her conditions through diet and lifestyle, Jaime seeks to provide realistic tools to for everyone to take their health into their own hands and see the power that whole foods, a healthy spirit, and a healthy mindset can have.

She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and holds many other certifications in the fitness field. Sarah loves being a trainer and motivating people to change their lives for the better. She is honored to be a part of each of her clients’ journeys to wellness. Maria Kahtava – Personal Coach and Fitness Instructor

For as long as she can remember, Maria Kahtava has had a zeal for fitness and healthy 1F5A3162-Editliving and has incorporated it as a lifestyle. In her youth, Maria developed, proposed and received funding to run summer fitness programs for children and youth in a rural community. Seeing the increase in physical ability, witnessing a positive change in attitude as well as a thirst for knowledge in these kids ignited her fitness fury further.
Maria’s credentials include canfitpro certified Personal Trainer, CPR/AED and First Aid certification. She has worked in the fitness field for 16 years and continues to enjoy taking courses to increase her learning and knowledge. Maria works at Sault College as a Learning Specialist with students in the Fitness and Health Promotion program where she enthusiastically promotes her passion.
Maria believes there is always a starting point, a beginning, a first step to becoming a healthier you. As a mother of 9 children she knows the struggle of weight and body issues, time management, stress and fatigue. However, she also knows they can be overcome. I am an Ontario Fitness Council (OFC) certified personal trainer. I was previously a Canfit certified personal trainer for five years. I have my BA in Psychology from Algoma University and a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Sault College. I integrate my training in Psychology with personal training and group training, particularly with athletes and other special populations. I started my own personal training business in 2016 and have been training clients of all ages as well as teaching fitness classes. I am a competitive powerlifter and strength training enthusiast. I often focus on strength and resistance training with my clients while teaching proper form and movement patterns which aid in living a long and healthy life!







Sheila Paluzzi – M.S.W. RSW

Sheila Gallagher Paluzzi has worked with individuals, couples and families for over twelve years, providing treatment for a variety of issues and mental health concerns. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Social Work.
Sheila is trained in many evidenced based interventions such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapy, and Family Based Therapy and specializes in Emotion Focused Family Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy. In addition, she is a clinical trainer and consultant for Emotion Focused Family Therapy.

Cara Russon – RN, MN, RYT 200

CaraCara has been a registered nurse since 2007, working in emergency medicine at Mount Sinai for 8 years and now works in aesthetic and clinical dermatology at Azure MediSpa.
Cara has been practicing yoga since 1998, starting in Sault Ste Marie at ‘the yoga door’. While spending a decade away from home she has had the opportunity to learn from, and with, a lot of amazing teachers. Cara has been to two Ashram’s; one in the Bahamas and one in Nicaragua.
Cara has taken her love and understanding of Western science and medicine and applied it to her yoga practice. She continues to ask the question; “why does yoga make me feel so good?”, and is relentless in her pursuit of answers. The practice Cara teaches is therapeutic – using yoga as a health tool to connect with the mind, the breath and the body to improve one’s health state.
Cara’s passion is currently weaving tidbits of her research reading into classes.  Each class she teaches she hopes to leave her clients more mindful.

Krista Reece has always had a passion for fitness. She has recently graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and will be attending Teacher’s College in September 2018. She loves working with both kids and adults as well as sharing her knowledge on the importance of physical activity and wellbeing. Krista is a certified canfitpro personal trainer and looks forward to gaining more certifications in the health and fitness field in the future. She enjoys working out and finding new ways to stay active.

She is an active member of the Soo Masters polar bear swim team as well as an avid road cyclist and long distance runner. Sharon is a level one swim coach with the Sault Surge aquatic team. Her passion for fitness and healthy living fuels her love for training. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with clients. She loves to see them achieve their fitness and lifestyle goals.
