  • Do I need to be in shape to attend fitness classes?

    No, absolutely not. Strength and flexibility is important for healthy movement, but it will come with regular practice. Through a regular fitness practice, you can learn and develop correct movement patterns for everyday activities and reducing your risk of injury.

  • What is the difference between Yoga and Pilates?

    One of the main differences between Yoga and Pilates is that Yoga can be used for improving the flexibility of the body and it will also gradually increase the flexibility of your joints. Whereas Pilates focuses on trying to relax muscles which are tense and provide strengthening of the numerous muscles of the body.

  • Will lifting weights make me ‘bulky’?

    Lifting weights in general will not make you bulky. Instead, it will help to build muscle and reduce fat, changing your body composition over time and giving you a ‘toned’ look.

    Weight lifting is important for maintaining muscle mass, bone density, and improving metabolic function.

  • Can I do Pilates or other classes if I am pregnant?

    Yes. Each of our coaches is very knowledgeable and educated in pre and post natal fitness, so please inform your coach so that they can tailor each class to best suit your needs.

  • Do I need to see a Nutritionist?

    No, it not required to see our Nutritionist to train with us, however, it can elevate your potential!

    Making sure that your body is balanced and you are eating a diet that suits you will help ensure the best results possible.

    If you attend a small group or personal training sessions, you will receive a nutrition manual specifically designed by our nutritionist. 

  • Do I need to use supplements if I want to see results?

    You don’t necessarily need to use supplements to see results, but some supplements can help certain clients with overall wellness. This is usually on a person-to-person basis. You can discuss this with your coach or our Nutritionist.

  • How does cross training help to improve your performance in powerlifting?

    Cross training helps in training balance, flexibility, muscular and cardiac endurance and strength, and helps to fix imbalances that would potentially hinder your powerlifting performance!

    Cross training is important in any sport.

  • What is a Registered Kinesiologist?

    A Registered Kinesiologist is a someone who has been through a university program in

    Kinesiology, exercise physiology, or other human movement related field, who has met the requirements of the College of Kinesiologist of Ontario (including an entrance exam) to

    practice as a regulated health professional. At Fit Bodies Fit Minds we offer kinesiology services such as rehabilitative exercise, trigger point release therapy, kinesiotaping, aquatic therapy, and percussion massage. Check with your extended health benefits provider, you might even have coverage for the service.

  • Do you train clients at the Delta's gym?

    Yes, we are able to take clients and train them in the Delta gym! We have access to all of their equipment as well as their pool.

  • Where do I park?

    There is metered on street parking in front of our building on Queen Street. There are also two city Green P parking lots less than a block away, one with access from either March or Spring Streets (North of Queen Street), and the other on Bingham St with access from either Queen Street or Bay Street (between Spring and Brock). The Green P lots are free 2 hour parking.


  • Why is training in my bare feet or without shoes beneficial?

    Going barefoot not only allows the feet to give our brains more feedback, but it allows the nerves and muscles within the foot to strengthen. Barefoot training is also an easy way to injury-proof your body. It leads to better movement in other joints of the body such as the hips, low back and even shoulders.

  • Corporate wellness why? What is Corporate Wellness about?

    Fit Bodies. Fit Minds. we believe in developing a strong body and balanced mind in order to reach success in life and work.  We pride ourselves in bettering our community by offering programs, workshops, and onsite fitness for any workplace in Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding area.  Our goal is to help improve overall wellness in the workplace so that workers are healthier which in turn, leads to increased productivity.  Through various workshops and programs, which can be tailored to suit each individual workplace, we aim to meet your specific needs.  All presentations, workshops, and fitness can be offered in 45 minute or 1.5-hour time slots.  Classes are 45 minutes in length.  Pricing and topics can be discussed upon booking.

  • What is FST (Fascial Stretch Therapy)?

  • What is We Come to You training about?

    We welcome the opportunity to come to you to help achieve your fitness goals. We can come to your workplace or community and customize programs to fulfill your groups’ fitness needs and wants. We also offer the opportunity to welcome your group into our studio with specially designed programs that suit the needs of your group.

  • Does Fit Bodies Fit Minds offer do Party Events of any kind?

     At Fit Bodies. Fit Minds. we welcome the opportunity to host a party for you. Our studio space is available to rent out, or we can create and host the party for you. Book your child’s birthday party with us and we will provide a fun fitness filled time with lots of age appropriate exercises and games that will keep your child happy. We offer fitness classes, dance parties, relaxation parties, and girl’s night out parties. Catering, photography and music are all available for these interaction and enjoyable parties.

  • What does Athlete Group training involve?

    Here at Fit Bodies. Fit Minds. we understand the unique training needs of an athlete.  Many of our staff have an athletic background and have both trained and competed at high levels of sport.  We have extensive certification in athletic training, strength and conditioning and program design. 

    Start with a Functional Movement Screening to identify your individualized needs, and one of our certified trainer can create a personalized program to make sure you are in the best shape for your sport.  

    Are you a coach and interested in training your team? We can also create group programs that meet the needs of your team and offer small group coaching. 

    Our experience working with many professional athletes from all over the world has provided us with the knowledge to deliver excellence in athlete training.  Athletes who work with Fit Bodies. Fit Minds. will truly find their edge if working with our advanced level trainers.
